Frequently Asked Questions
- Answered by Matt Colman

Some Common questions I get asked as a magician:

If your question is not here, please email me so I can help you out.

Why Choose you?

Please see my biography and my testimonials page, also you might want to have a look at my media page to see some pictures and video clips of myself performing. I have over 15 years of experience, so I know exactly how to make your event a huge success.

How long should I book you for?

Generally speaking two hours is sufficient, within two hours up to 100 guests can comfortably see a decent amount of magic. For a smaller party one hour maybe enough, or for a larger event you might consider hiring an extra magician, which I can arrange for you. (Who has been personally vetted by myself)

I want to book you for a wedding, but what part should I book you for?

For a wedding there's a only really a few options that really work best, firstly after the ceremony - during the reception and photographs - this is a great way for me to mingle with your guests performing close up magic. Secondly, around the tables performing my top table magic during the wedding breakfast or performing my stage mind reading show after the wedding breakfast or during the evening function. Contact me so I can help you with your specific needs.

Do you do children's birthday parties or children's entertainment?

Unfortunately not - however the act is family friendly if children are with adults during performances.

How much do you charge?

The fee will depend mainly on the length of performance required and whether you require my stage show with the close up magic as well. There are no hidden costs with my fee, the fee I quote you is the final price. My rates are pretty much the same all over the U.K, so it might be worth hiring myself rather than someone local. You may find cheaper magicians, but I guarantee they won't have the professionalism or the skills to make sure this is one event to remember.

What if you can't make it?

If I am booked already to perform on the date you enquire about, I will refer you to some great magicians, that I highly highly recommend, these are magicians that I've worked with on regular basis at various events and can safely leave it in there more than capable hands. However if you do book me and and in the rarest circumstances that I can't make it - I will send a cover magician, who again will be just as good as myself (if not even better!) at no extra cost to you.

Are you insured?

Yes, As a member of Equity I have £10 million pounds of public liability insurance. So you have nothing to worry about!

Are you CRB Checked?

Yes, please ask for a copy.

Can I annoy you by ringing you up selling you ad space, magazine adverts or the like?

Please, no - during the 30 minutes you'll spend trying to win a sale - genuine customers calls are being ignored. If we want to advertise - we'll contact you.

We are a charity - can you offer your services for free?

Each year Matt appears at numerous of his chosen charities' events, donating his fee to the cause - so unfortunately Matt can't offer free services to any more charities at this moment - however Matt will try and offer you a reduced fee if possible.
